Several years ago, I was presented with an opportunity to travel abroad to further my studies. At the time, I was living in a 700 square foot loft apartment and didn’t have a ton of stuff to store while away, but I knew that I would eventually return and wanted my furniture and possessions cared for. Fortunately for my situation, Big Blue Squirrel offered short and long-term rates on various sizes of storage unit (up to 500 square feet) which can accommodate storage for anyone’s needs. Their range of offerings have come in handy for those needing to clear up space so they could renovate or work on temporary projects, and I’ve known close friends who rented a smaller storage unit long-term to use as an extension of their in-home storage, so they could declutter and keep their living space neat and tidy.
What set Big Blue Squirrel apart for me was the peace of mind I had, being thousands of miles away from home and knowing that my personal belongings were safe and secure under their care. They do more than just keep everything in a box under lock and key. To keep close guard of their client’s property, they control entry to the storage facility with keypad access (ensuring that only authorized clients and personnel can access the area) and use a network of CCTV cameras to closely monitor the goings on in and around the property, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On top of that, their security personnel walk the grounds and check the storage unit doors daily to ensure they are secure.
When I returned from my travels after two years abroad, one of the first things I did was inspect my storage unit. I was so happy to find that all my stuff (some of which I’d forgotten I had) was exactly where I left it. It was as if I had just shut the door on the unit yesterday. My experience was so positive, in fact, that I was able to refer a friend to take my former unit. He really enjoyed the convenience and thought that in many ways, due to Big Blue Squirrel’s tight security measures, his possessions were in better hands with them than in his home (their security monitoring does not take a holiday!).
